Shear pins are a critical safety component designed to protect plough frames and shank assemblies by shearing under excessive load. Shear pin systems provide a substantially higher breakout force than hydraulic breakout machines but require replacement once the shear pin breaks. We recommend operators keep at least three spare shear pins per row on hand.
Always match the shear pin to the correct shank assembly and RHS frame size. Using an incorrect shear pin may increase load transfer to the machine and can result in damage not covered by warranty. If you are unsure which shear pin is suitable for your machine or operating conditions, please contact your dealer or Agrowplow before ordering.
