Agrowdrill Calibration Calculator

Step through this guide to set up your machine and verify your sowing rate before heading to the paddock.

1 Machine & Row Configuration
Set gate, restrictors and rate adjustment levers, then insert calibration tray and seed
Turn the calibration handle
Turn the handle anticlockwise — collect seed from the 5 hoses/outlets and weigh
2 Seed Type & Target Rate optional
⚠ Seed rate data not available for this model. Please refer to your operator's manual or contact Agrowplow on 1300 722 491.
3 Weigh & Calculate Actual Rate

After turning the handle the required number of times, weigh the total seed collected from 5 hoses and enter it below.

The Small Seeds Box (SSB) is calibrated separately from the main drill. Use the same calibration factor and handle turns as your main drill configuration — pre-filled below if you have completed Step 1 on the Main Drill tab.

🔔 Low Gear is the factory default setting. Set High or Low gear by placing the drive chain on the appropriate sprockets before calibrating.

3 Weigh & Calculate

Prime the seed rollers first, then collect from the 5 SSB hoses after the required handle turns and weigh.

Adjusting sowing rate: Use the drive bar to make minor adjustments. If you are unable to get the seeding rate high or low enough, change the drive speed by moving the chain between the High and Low gear sprockets.

Recommended Restrictor and Gate Settings

Adjust your Agrowdrill seed roller restrictors to suit fine or coarse seed and fertiliser.

The seed rollers in Agrowdrill seed drills have both a fine and a coarse side. This allows large and small seeds to be accurately metered without having to completely rebuild your seed roller assembly.

How to Reposition Restrictors:

    1. Grasp the rear arm of the restrictor and gently twist the arm sideways to release it from under the adjustable stopper and remove it.
    2. Re-insert the restrictor into the new position or leave out as required. You should feel the restrictor click firmly into place.

CAUTION: Check the hopper is free of obstructions. Do not use material which is not granular and consistent. Sieve any material which might have clumps or been exposed to moisture. Do not use fertilizer which has been left exposed to the air or has started to cake.

Recommended Settings:

Use the information below in combination with the Agrowdrill calibration procedure to correctly calibrate your seed drill for a range of common seeds and fertilisers.
